Carry-on luggage is subject to international limits for liquids. All travellers, including children are required to show photo ID to travel. While a passport is preferred, it’s not essential.

Due to our remote location and limited flight availability, items like surfboards, golf clubs, and food boxes are considered excess baggage and carried on a space-available basis. To avoid any inconvenience, we recommend packing light where possible and keeping your essential items, including medication, in your carry-on.

We strongly recommend that all travellers purchase a comprehensive travel insurance policy that covers travel to the Indian Ocean Territories. Please ensure that your policy covers weather related flight disruptions.

What aircraft will you fly on to Christmas Island ?

QANTAS will be operating Airbus A319 and A320 aircraft in full economy configuration.

What is included in the ticket?

Flights have complimentary food and baggage allowances, with a carry-on bag of up to 7kg and checked baggage included.

Passengers can request a dietary-required meal via the Qantas website (under the ‘Manage Booking’ option), at least 24 hours prior to scheduled departure (36 hours for a Kosher meal).

Can I Purchase additional baggage ?

Yes you are able to purchase additional baggage, but your total checked baggage (including any extra purchased) can’t exceed 65 kg per person. Extra items like fishing gear or food boxes are accepted subject to load availability. If you have multiple bags, you must choose one priority bag (up to 30 kg), and others may be delayed if there are weight limits on your flight. Keep valuables, medications, and important documents in your carry-on (max 7 kg).
